BellSouth Corp has said that its planned cellular service in New Zealand will exceed that of the existing network operated by Telecom Corp of New Zealand: BellSouth’s service will go live in early 1993, and it plans to spend $83m over the next 10 years on infrastructure; much of this will go on switching and radio gear, in addition to a long- haul facility between Auckland and Wellington.
