BellSouth is expected to cut between 4,000 and 5,000 jobs. The lay offs will come from both management and non-management positions. The company believes most of the job cuts will be voluntary redundancies.
BellSouth’s announcement follows a similar announcement last week of job cuts by fellow telecommunications company, SBC Communications.
