Four of the seven regional Bell telephone companies plan to file a legal motion for Federal Judge Harold Greene to give up oversignt of the local monopolies, the Wall Street Journal reported: the four are Bell Atlantic Corp, BellSouth Corp, Nynex Corp and Southwestern Bell Corp, who plan to argue that the decree has outlived its usefulness because of the changes in telecommunications, it said; Pacific Telesis Group Inc, US West Inc and Ameritech Corp have the option to join the case, but they are pursuing narrower deregulation requests.
