BELL CANADA UNIT TO BUY UP TO 49% OF KINBURN CORP

BCE Inc, which was formerly known as Bell Canada Enterprises, is pumping $212m into AES Data’s new parent, Kinburn Corp and will in return get the right to take up to 49% of the privately-held Ottawa, Ontario company. BCE will also sell two businesses to Kinburn and give it the right to buy a 47% stake in its Computer Innovations Distribution Inc microcomputer retailing business. As well as owning AES Data, now merged with its Xios Systems Corp (CI No 897), Kinburn has a 50.5% shareholding in SHL Systemhouse Inc, also of Ottawa.
