BCE Inc’s Bell Canada unit has filed a proposal with the Canadian Radio-Television & Telecommunications Commission to end the monopoly it has on the installation and maintenance of inside wire services for single-line businesses and residential customers: if approved, the ownership of inside wire and telephone jacks would pass to the owner of the building, enabling Bell Canada or any other supplier to do installation and maintenance.
