The Canadian government has sold its 53% stake in satellite communications operator Telesat Canada to the group of public telephone companies led by BCE Inc’s Bell Canada – acting under the name Alouette, for $130m: Alouette now holds 94% of Telesat Canada, which continues as a separate Ottawa-based entity.
