Bell Atlantic Corp’s Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co unit filed a protest with the US government over an eight-year, $90m contract awarded to AT&T Co to provide a new switching system for the Treasury Department’s Washington offices, saying that the AT&T bid was $18m above the one that it submitted.
