Bell Atlantic Corp, Philadelphia is joining forces with Italian state telecommunications holding company Stet to establish a new software company by the middle of next year – the aim is that the new company should do applications both for each of its parents and for sale to third parties. The partners stress will be on software to improve telephone and cellular company quality of service as an aid to Italian modernisation; they say that some of the applications may also be appropriate for other large firms.It is expected that the company will employ about 300 Italians and 20 to 30 Americans.
