BELL ATLANTIC MOBILE ENHANCES WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE

By CBR Staff Writer

Bell Atlantic Corp’s Bell Atlantic Mobile group has launched its enhanced Cellscape wireless internet access service, with more information services, stronger encryption and flat-rate pricing. Customers can access the internet, corporate intranets, email, fax and voice services using a Cellscape smartphone, which runs on BAM’s AirBridge CDPD network. For $20 a month, subscribers get internet/intranet access and a variety of news, weather, financial and sports information services. $25 a month will get you all that plus e-mail capability, with storage of up to 50 messages. The Cellscape service is built on micro-browser technology developed by Unwired Planet Inc (CI No 3,199).
