BELL ATLANTIC ITALIAN COLLABORATION

By CBR Staff Writer

Bell Atlantic International Inc, its Eurotech Italia SpA subsidiary, and Compagnia Internazionale di Tecniche di Elaborazione e Computers SpA, Citec, are to review each others products with a view to establishing complementary offerings. Rome-based Citec specialises in computer access and imaging systems with telecommunications, process control and office automation applications; product lines likely to be included in negotiations include its computer access automation system, which gives phone users access to host computers, and its image staorage and retrieval system for data capture. With Citec looking to break out of its Italian shell, any deal is likely to cover at least the European market. Bell Atlantic acquired Eurotech as part of the package when it took Bell Canada’s European maintenance operations.
