Bell Atlantic Corp and Mexican cellular operator Grupo Iusacell SA de CV have wrapped up their agreement on an alliance in which Bell Atlantic will invest up to $1,040m that will ultimately give it a 42% stake in Iusacell: to start with, it will acquire about 23% by buying $520m of newly issued shares from the company; an initial public offer of shares equal to about 10% of Iusacell’s equity is also under consideration; Bell Atlantic expects dilution to be $0.15 to $0.20 a share for the first year of operations – 1994 – but after that, it expects a positive contrubution.
