Bell Atlantic Corp and Ameritech Corp each sold about 112m shares of Telecom Corp of New Zealand Ltd to two New Zealand companies under the agreements initially entered into in 1990: with the sales, the two have complied with their commitment to the New Zealand government to reduce their combined ownership to below 50% by the end of September.
