The leadership fight at Belgacom could endanger the Belgian state-owned phone company’s privatisation, Belgium’s minister for communication and public enterprise said: when asked by Belgian radio whether a reported conflict between Belgacom chairman Benoit Remiche and chief executive officer Bessel Kok could endanger the float, Elio di Rupo replied, If it continues, yes – last month, Belgian media reported that five members of Belgacom’s executive committee had written to Di Rupo saying they felt they could no longer co-operate with Remiche; the committee is led by Kok, who did not sign the note.
