The British Broadcasting Corporation has chosen Mirror Image Internet Inc to provide caching services to its web site, Beeb.com. Mirror Image’s Central Cache Connection serves most web requests off regional servers, thus distributing content and effectively balancing the load on the BBC’s central machines. The internet now represents a significant element of the BBC’s media output, explained technical director Martin Goodier, caching is an integral part of providing a fast reliable service.
