Neckarsulum, Germany-based Bechtle is aiming to hit sales in excess of 1bn euros ($1.2bn) this year, and has made three other acquisitions in the last 10 months, swooping for e-commerce services firm ARP Datacon, and Swiss resellers Also Comsyst and Gate Informatic AG, which added a combined 224m euros ($278m) in annual revenue.

SGB, which is based in Aalen, Germany, provides maintenance and integration services around cash machines and bank statement printers. The company has 40 employees and made revenue of about 5m euros ($6.2m) in 2003.

Bechtle made revenue of 791m euros ($980m) last year, and competes against UK-based Computacenter Plc, which made German sales of 635m pounds ($1.2bn) last year following its takeover of local reseller GE Compunet in November 2002. Both Bechtle and Computacenter are keen to build up their services operations in order to offset price declines in product sales.
