Beale International Technology Ltd has teamed up with L M Ericsson to provide an upgrade path for Token Ring users to fibre optic transmission: snappily named Zat 8, the product was developed by Ericsson Fibre Optics and will be distributed exclusively by Beale; fibre optic Token Ring networking will be on offer to all MS-DOS micro users and up to eight micros can be linked to a multi-station access unit; Beale has a track record in fibre optic technology and claims that the agreement heralds a closer relationship with the Swedish firm.
