Transaction processing firm BEA Systems Inc has signed an OEM agreement with TSI International Software Inc and plans to resell TSI’s Mercator data transformation tool. As part of the deal, TSI has agreed to build a set of adapters for BEA’s Tuxedo and MessageQ products. The partnership should help BEA tap into the SAP AG R/3 marketplace, where TSI is already strong, but BEA says it also expects to sell the combination to its telecommunications and financial services customers. BEA’s BEA Connect messaging for R/3 product is sold to SAP customers who want real-time integration between SAP and non SAP applications. The addition of Mercator should enable application data to be passed between the different applications without the need to write additional code.
