BEA Systems Inc announced yesterday its intention to acquire enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) software house, The Theory Center, in a $100m stock and cash deal. BEA says that integrating the software house’s technology with its existing component software will provide building for customized e-commerce programs that can be rapidly assembled. BEA says that it will be keeping the 42- strong staff of the Boston-based software house.
