Operating system vendor Be Inc has agreed to bundle browser software from Swedish developer Opera Software A/S. The Opera browser will function as the user interface for Be’s new operating system, code-named Stinger, which is aimed at web- connected internet appliances, like National Semiconductor Inc’s recently launched WebPad. The browser will also be bundled with the BeOS desktop operating system. The Opera browser has long been well regarded as a speedy browser that does not use much system memory (just over 1Mb) and is ideal for small footprint web appliances.
