Be Inc has signed another distribution deal for its BeOS operating system, this time with Ingram Micro Inc. The distributor began shipping the product in August throughout the US. The deal means that BeOS will be available at retail stores such as Best Buy, Borders, Creative Computers/PC Mall, Frys, J&R Music and Micro Center.
Be has also signed European distribution deals with Dixons in England, FNAC and Surcouf in France, and ProMarkt in Germany. Earlier this month, Be signed up Dell Computer Corp’s Gigabuys.com general retail web site to sell the operating system, which is designed to support digital media applications. The distributors will be selling the recently released 4.5 version of BeOS.
