Within a few months, Be Inc plans to start distributing the BeOS operating system free over the World Wide Web to anyone who wants to install it on their current generation of Macintosh machines, the New York Times reports. The company is also working on a Virtual Mac facility to enable Mac users to run their existing Mac OS applications concurrently with BeOS.
