BE LOOKS FOR NEW DEALS AFTER APPLE PULLS PLUG ON CLONEMAKERS

One of those companies most affected by Apple Computer Inc’s decision to virtually close down the clone market is Be Inc, the operating system company that Apple rejected for Steve Jobs’ NeXT Inc. Be was making most of its sales through bundling deals with clonemakers, and will now have to look for other means of distribution. It is already working on distribution deals with the publishers of Mac magazines.
