Two major UK TV organizations – Granada Group Plc and Carlton Communications Plc – are expected to announce within weeks which companies will make set-top boxes for their digital TV venture British Digital Broadcasting (BDB). The selection process is still underway and BDB said it had a good response to its tender. The order is likely to give an indication of how much demand BDB expects for its 30-channel terrestrial services which are due to be launched in the autumn. The subsidized boxes will sell for around ú200.
