B&B EXTENDS MAX/ENTEPRISE MANAGEMENT TO UNIX, NT

By CBR Staff Writer

Boole & Babbage Inc is extending the scope of its Maxm Systems Corp’s Max/Enterprise systems management environment to encompass Unix and other client/server environments by offering Command Agents from the B&B Command/Post management environment for use with the Max/Enterprise server. The Command Agents will enable Max/Enterprise users to monitor 15 flavours of Unix, NetWare, NT, OS/2, MQSeries and SAP R/3 environments in addition to the IBM mainframe, AS/400, Tandem, VAX and other legacy systems they already manage. PhonePoint – which can call administrators and read the text of problems and then allow the administrator to request action – is also up on Max/Enterprise. B&B is readying an NT client for both environments.
