St Louis, Missouri-based Baytech Inc has announced the M16 Data Exchange System, a 16-slot peripheral-sharing device. According to the company, the device has a serial data transfer capability of 460Kbps, enabling computers and file servers to off-load large text and graphic files to plotters, modems and other computers. The M16 base unit lists for $1,390, with port expansion modules starting from $270. It is shipping now.
