BAYERNWERK TO DECIDE ON TELECOM FUTURE

Bayernwerk AG, the power subsidiary of diversified industrial group Viag AG, it will decide in the course of next year whether it plans to enter the race to offer telecommunications services, Viag’s chief finance officer told Sddeutsche Zeitung: Bayernwerk currently has 2,500 miles of fibre optic telecommunications cable and is applying for a licence to offer third party services in its lines.
