BAY SAYS $200M RAPID CITY ACQUISITION IS ONLY RUMOR

Bay Networks Inc has said speculation circulating about an acquisition worth some $200m with Mountain View, California-based Rapid City Communications is just a rumor, and company policy dictates it cannot comment. Network World says Bay Networks would be positioned against the likes of Cisco Systems Inc in the Gigabit Ethernet world, if the deal goes ahead.
