Tennis players who wear no more than their hearts on their sleeves are the no-hopers these days, but ICL had a nice little bit of windfall publicity on the sleeve of Jeremy Bates at Wimbledon on Sunday when, partnered by Jo Durie, won the mixed doubles championship, the pair becoming the first all-British partnership to win the event for 51 years… but why was the victorious lad wearing the ICL logo? Turns out that the company’s Bristol office was one of the sponsors of the pre-Wimbledon West of England event in Bristol, and Bates hadn’t gotten around to ripping the badge off.
