IBM plug-compatible mainframe marketer Comparex Informationssysteme GmbH of Mannheim, West Germany, created last year from the combination of BASF AG and and Siemens AG’s plug compatible businesses, has undergone a first year adjustment of ownership. Ownership was previously split equally between the two companies, but BASF has now raised its stake to two thirds. According to UK Managing Director Bob Hogarth the move represents a more sensible layer of the equity of the company. Siemens tops its proprietary line with Fujitsu mainframes running the BS2000 operating system, while Comparex – like BASF before it gets CPUs from Hitachi. Hannover Augenblick – see page two.
