Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Stratus Computer Inc reports that Barcelona will run a new traffic management system on four RISC-based Stratus XA/R Continuous Processing Systems running its FTX 2 Unix: the system will go into full operation by the end of June in preparation for the dramatic increases in traffic volumes expected during the 1992 Summer Olympics, which begin on July 25, and will provide a permanent traffic management facility thereafter; Construcciones y Contratas SA purchased the systems under a prime systems integration contract with Barcelona’s Traffic Management Office for $3m; the total contract value was $47m.
