Banyan Systems Inc, which shunted aside its founder and chief executive officer David Mahoney last November along with 15% of its workforce (CI No 3,038), now has a replacement. He is William P Ferry, most recently the president of Wang Laboratories Inc’s $800m services division, which he expanded into networking and customer service markets. Ferry, who’s 44, was also responsible for Wang’s VS minicomputer hardware and software business and worldwide manufacturing operations. Mahoney continues as vice chairman of Banyan’s board of directors. Banyon reported a $27m loss last year, up from a $21.4m loss the year before.
