Paris-based leasing company Europe Computer Systemes SA has won a powerful ally for its ECS Japan subsidiary in the shape of Bank of Tokyo, which has acquired a 5% stake in the company. ECS Japan, capitalised at $1.5m, was created in 1986 to take account of the fact that Japan is now the second largest market for operational leases on IBM equipment after the US.
