The SiteKey, according to the bank, is designed to help confirm a customer’s identification. Customers pick an image, write a brief phrase and select three challenge questions, which is then passed between the customer and the bank to confirm each other’s identity.
Bank of America developed the service with PassMark Security, a company that focuses on authentication systems to fight identity theft and other types of fraud.
The product is scheduled to launch in Tennessee in mid-June and roll out across the US by the end of the year.
