Bandai Co Ltd, the Japanese toy maker responsible for the Tamagotchi cyber pet has decided to branch into a new line of business – gardening supplies. The company that last week announced it is to disband its digital unit in Japan (CI No 3,359) and will develop garden products using animated characters that appear in its products, such as Doraemon. Bandai is also considering marketing a Tamagotchi line of gardening goods, featuring its digital chicken.
