If its acquisition by Sega Enterprises Ltd goes through, it is hard to see Bandai Co Ltd persisting for long thereafer with the Pippin games console when it has been orphaned by Apple Computer Inc. But Bandai Digital Entertainment is making brave noises about continuing product development and marketing around the Pippin platform. It says that when it signed the licensing agreement allowing it to manufacture and upgrade the Pippin architecture, it envisioned a day when Apple would concentrate its resources on other product lines.
