BAN LOOKS SET TO STAY ON BT ENTERTAINMENT

Don Cruickshank, UK Director General of Telecommunications, said yesterday that he would not be inclined at present to recommend in 1998 that the government lift the ban on British Telecommunications Plc carrying entertainment to homes over its network: testifying to the Parliamentary Trade & Industry Committee, Cruickshank said he had no power to bring the review forward.
