Jim Harris, new president and chief executive of the Santa Cruz Operation Inc, was one of the very earliest in the door at Intel Corp, where he made his fortune: since 1988, aside from his position on Santa Cruz’s board, he has has been occupied as a farmer in Minnesota, the last occupation making him just the man to help the firm to climb out of the deep doo-doo into which it was plunged by the embarrassing lawuit brought by irate female employees against his predecessor.
