Now that it is back in control of its desting in South Africa, having just raised its stake in its distributor and former subsidiary Information Systems Management Group Pty Ltd to 51.5% (CI No 2,553), IBM Corp plans to assemble personal computers in South Africa, and aims eventually to supply its entire personal computer market in Southern Africa from the new plant, which is expected to be built in Johannesburg.
