Burlington, Massachusetts-based Bachman Information Systems Inc, which had been thinking of putting itself up for sale, but found that what its financial advisors came back with did not appeal, says it will no longer participate as a member in IBM Corp’s International Alliances for AD/Cycle, SystemView and Information Warehouse; Bachman says it will continue to have a multi-faceted relationship with IBM, working together with IBM on a country by country and project by project basis to meet the needs of joint customers worldwide and will retain IBM as its distributor in 16 countries in Asia and the Pacific Rim, as well as in Switzerland and Austria; IBM said it is evaluating its existing worldwide distribution agreements for Bachman products in light of the announcement and will assist customers, at their request, to migrate their data so it can be used by tools that continue to be a part of the AD/Cycle alliance.
