Several of the Baby Bells are believed to be negotiating for a stake in Viacom Inc, the cable company that needs help to complete its agreed bid for Paramount Communications Inc now that there is a higher bidder in the ring: Southwestern Bell Corp is seen as the most disposed to pursuing cable TV properties outside its territories and having cash to offer; Bell Atlantic Corp, Nynex Corp and Ameritech Corp are also said to be talking, Reuter reports from New York.
