Baan Co NV says it has won its biggest ever order single sale through an independent channel partner, in the shape of a 1,000 user ERP system for Huck International Inc, a maker of precision fasteners for industrial and aerospace markets. The five-year, $5.5m contract was won by SolutionBank Inc, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based reseller that has acquired two smaller Baan resellers since July. The contract specifies 500 Baan ERP seats and 11 sites of Baan Sync in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, Australia, Japan and France. Huck is a $500m division of $2.4bn aerospace company Cordant Inc, which is also considering using Baan as a company standard. If it does, the business will go through SolutionBank. Two year-old SolutionBank acquired Fort Worth, Texas-based HTG Corp, a 60 person implementor of Baan and Cincom software, earlier this month. In July it acquired Baan Business Systems California of Long Beach, a 35-person reseller. Baan says the deal is proof that its push towards indirect channels is working.
