Dutch-American ERP software vendor Baan Co NV said Tuesday that it had struck a deal to acquire Proloq Holding BV, which provides industry-specific software for the primary metals, cable and wire, and pulp and paper industries. After closing, Netherlands- based Proloq will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baan. No other details of the agreement were disclosed by the two companies. Proloq develops and markets add-on modules which are based on Baan’s development technology and are fully integrated in Baan’s ERP software. The two companies have been partners for several years and cooperated on deals with a handful of high- profile customers such as British Steel.
