Baan Co NV, the Dutch enterprise resource planning company, has formed a strategic alliance with storage specialist EMC Corp for technical co-operation to provide systems that offer secure storage for Baan applications. Their aim is to take the risk out of deploying Baan applications in rapidly changing environments. Our joint efforts will ensure that customers can easily integrate and scale their Baan and EMC environments on a variety of CPU platforms, said Don Drury, Baan’s VP of product marketing. Earlier this month, EMC Corp unveiled what it claimed is the world’s largest disc storage system capable of delivering six terabytes of data (CI No 3384). One of the target markets for the new systems is customers looking to implement SAP AG or Baan applications.
