BAAN ADDS PUSH TECHNOLOGY TO ENTERPRISE PLANNING TOOLS

By CBR Staff Writer

Baan Co is claiming to be the first enterprise resource planning software house to offer HTML push technology support with Baan IVc, a new version of its ERP software to be released before the end of the quarter. Additions include internet connectivity across the supply chain, multi-currency finance support, advanced data search tools and integration with partner and affiliate products, such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases on Windows NT. The new version enables internet commerce through Baan Electronic Shopper which uses Microsoft Commerce Server to create web selling sites, and automatically converts orders into sales orders in conjuntion with Baan enterprise applications. Baan IVc also adds the Baan Data Navigator, a drag and drop tool for accessing database information within an intranet or across the internet developed with California based Top Tier Software.
