Networking software and products distribution company Adcomp Datensysteme GmbH, Unterhaching, Germany, is to be split up and sold to various distributors, following withdrawal of support by its banks and its subsequent filing for bankruptcy. Computerwoche reports that Wokingham, Berkshire-based Azlan Ltd wants to take on a nucleus of Adcomp managers and set up a separate company to supply network products and support. Munich-based Macotron AG is also interested in taking some activities, and is said to have offered to employ 35 Adcomp staff. Adcomp had just signed to be a distributor of Univel Inc’s UnixWare in the Netherlands (CI No 1,997). Adcomp, which has companies in seven European countries, employs 200 people, 90 in Germany, and according to the German daily Handelsblatt, had consolidated turnover equivalent to $67m in 1991, with $43m from Germany. It had forecast sales of $99m this year, $65m in Germany. Adcomp manager Helmut Holighaus was the majority shareholder.
