The Azerbaijan Ministry of Communications has a pact with Telespazio SpA of Italy to construct a satellite earthstation in Baku, Azerbaijan, enabling direct communication between the two countries: communications hardware will be supplied by the Italian firm and paid for over three years out of traffic tariffs.
