Swedish net server manufacturer Axis AB has launched two new servers, a camera server and a scanner server that both can be directly connected to a LAN – or to the internet. The camera server is a revolutionary piece of equipment for surveillance firms, enabling pictures from up to five cameras to be transmitted over the net. Via the new server, the five cameras can be controlled through a web browser. The scanner server scans a document – and transmits it not as a fax but as email. Marketing director Patrik Nilsson says it will save much time for all concerned and bring the paperless office another step forward.
