US-based Axesstel, engaged in the design and development of fixed wireless voice and broadband data products, has extended its gateway lines with the enhanced MU430.

According to the company, the MU430 provides high-speed uplink packet access (HSUPA) technology for increased speeds of up to 7.2Mbps for downlink and 2Mbps for uplink for high-speed access to e-mail, the internet, data intensive applications files and multi-media streaming. In addition, it combines wireless wide area networking and a Wi-Fi wireless local area network router to support access from any room or office and trouble-free set up of a local hotspot.

Axesstel said that the MU430 HSUPA gateway offers wireless broadband data access in one plug-and-play desktop networking device. It provides global connectivity in UMTS tri-band of 2100/1900/850MHz and in GSM, GPRS, and EDGE Quad-Band of 850/900/1800/1900MHz and is backward compatible with HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, and GSM. The MU430 has optional voice feature for added user benefit.

Clark Hickock, CEO of Axesstel, said: Our growing HSUPA product portfolio increases our addressable market and builds on the success of CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev. A MV400 Series gateway. The enhanced HSUPA Wi-Fi Gateway provides a competitively priced, high quality solution that is ideal for operators in emerging regions to provide broadband data access where service is either limited or non-existent.
