Interactive Intelligence develops software for contact center, IP telephony and messaging applications. Avtex, based in Minneapolis, has operations throughout the Midwest. Perimeter Technology has operations in the southeast and has been a reseller for Interactive Intelligence for six years.

With this acquisition, Avtex expands its operations and customer base in the Southeast, a region with outstanding potential for our product suite and our proven contact center expertise. We have been waiting for the right time and the right opportunity. This is it. With Perimeter, we gain great people and an existing customer base to build upon, said Bob Denman, president and chief executive at Avtex.

It’s a great move for both companies. Avtex is our top partner and will gain an instant foothold in a region that we believe is relatively untapped and has almost unlimited potential, said Paul Weber, vice president of North American sales at Interactive Intelligence.

This is the fourth acquisition for Avtex since 2003. The company acquired Interactive Solutions International in March 2006 to expand in Cincinnati. It also acquired Telestar Communications in 2005 and Minneapolis-based Soltris in 2003 to enhance its product portfolio and expand its customer base.
