Avnet Inc has been stomping all over Europe buying up companies to build a distribution network on this side of the water, and the Great Neck, New York-based company has now landed in Sweden, where it has bought Nortec Group AB, on undisclosed terms, describing it as the leading distributor of electronic components in Scandinavia with operations in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland, and estimated sales for fiscal 1992 to August 31 of $68m; the firm will be merged with Avnet’s other European units.
